Bike Fans,
Just a reminder that tickets are on sale NOW through July 13 for the Lance Armstrong Foundation fundraiser being hosted by me (Joann Seaver) and Knoll Farm in Brentwood on Sunday, July 20, during the 100th anniversary of the Tour de France and Lance's bid to win his 5th consecutive title!
Your tax deductible donation of $30 will benefit the programs of the Foundation in assisting cancer survivors live with, through and beyond cancer. Locks of Love will be the benficiary of lots of hair and Kaleidoscope, a local cancer support group, will be featured. As a cancer survivor and cyclist, I'm inviting you to join us for an afternoon (1-6 pm) of gourmet food and beverages, live music (John Coker's band...no, not the Broken Spokes!), door prizes, auctions (live and silent), 50:50 raffle, survivorship and cycling videos, guest speakers, and the main event, a public headshaving in tribute to cancer survivors! Among the shavees...me, Ole, Dick Anderson, Chris States, Julie Booher. Tony S chickened out but he will be our bartender AND will be auctioning his personal house keeping/maintenance services for 8 hours!!!Some of the other prizes available for auction include a 1 week stay at gorgeous Club Cascadas in Cabo San Lucas, 49er football items (autographed), dinners, wine, coffee, gift baskets, a stay at Sea Ranch...also, the opportunity to have an item of your choice (within reason!) autographed by Lance at the October Ride for the Roses event! I will also be accepting silent bids from persons who would like to participate but are not able to attend.
Contact me ASAP if you are interested in attending or offering silent bids. ([email protected] or 925-516-7734)
Thank you for your support and I hope to see you July 20th! Joann |

| Hi, PaiPai! Just a quick question from us chickens: weren't we supposed to bring a hat (or hats) to donate to the kids as well? Funny hats, straight hats, not-so-funny hats??? Or are we supposed just to wear funny hats? What's with the hats, anyway? I'm getting, like, all confused? |

Newbeard... Hats/wigs/scarves/do-rags/homemade do-hickys/head coverings in general, etc are optional! The idea is to provide the shavees with something to dress up their nude noggins after they get buzzed...or, as you suggested, the items could be donated to LOL along with the hair. So, are you going to attend and how many tickets do you want??? (Deadline is this Sunday!!! Give me a call to reserve tickets! 516-7734) Thanks for asking. Joann |
