If anyone interested, pre riding the Wente Road Race Course this Sat down in Livermore. Going to do 2 loops of it and then extra 4 miles to finish, appx 40 miles. Not going hard as have a century the next day, just want to see what the course is like (race is the following Sat.)
Meet at 9am at Marathon Drive which is off Patterson Pass and Greenville Road in Livermore. Directions-looks like coming off Vasco make left at Patterson Pass Rd and then left onto Marathon Dr (before Greenville)
There is now a 20% chance of light rain--if sprinkles am still going to ride it.

No, unfortunately dropped out on Thursday. Sat preride was fun--probably nicest race course I've seen--though Big Mike and Lawrence got us lost (hell, they are faster than me, so I was just following them when we wound up at the Altamont Speedway.) Got to do another preride the next day as Primevera Century turn around is on the race course. Then hurt back last Tuesday, after chiro treatment went out and tried the course again--Cat 12 grandmas would have been flying by me. While hoping for the best on Thursday saw chiro again, and had to drop out.
How did you and Lawrence do?

Didn't see Lawrence.
Hot! Got dropped on the second time up the climb, couldn't chase back on. Cruised rest of the race - did two of the crits on Sunday. |

I finally saw the results and that you did do two crits (you must love punishment) in different age brackets with relatively similiar placement. Having done them back-to-back how do you compare the fields (which is tougher) the 35+ 4/5 or the 45+ open?
