 October Tahoe Trip?

So, we have been tossing around a Oct Tahoe MTB trip..
The weekend of the 14th?

Thoughts?

Road and Mountain. Just back into riding after in Feb '06 after 18 years off a bike, and 6 years off from any activity since leaving the Marines. Cannondale R500 and Santacruz Superlight

The classic introductory Tahoe ride is to take the Spooner Lake shuttle (even days only) to Mt. Rose, come down the Rim Trail, Flume Trail and a fire-road back to Spooner Lake. Not too difficult, mostly downhill and the best views of the lake. If someone is having problems they can bail out after about 10 miles down Tunnel Creek fire-road and catch a shuttle back. I suggest making shuttle reservations in advance. It will probably be cold, certainly in the morning. So take extra clothing, and make sure you watch the weather reports. Winter could come at any time. Maps, photos, videos on my site.
