The below links up with the Gruppo Pumpkincycle Bicycle Club Web site, and a lengthy ride report on the Sierra Century-125 miles and 10,010 feet of climbing.
If you liked reading Dr. Hunter Thompson tangental accounts, you may like reading this. (just ignore the bad editing)

The Sierra Century is the best run Century, over the nicest--rustic course, and turned out to be a great finale to the Spring cycling season. This ride (also with 65 and 100 mile options) should not be missed. I can't believe that I did the 125 miler, but riding with Joann and Jerry it was easy.

And I could not have done it without the support of the Gruppo Pumpkincycle Squash Team "J" Squad...Jay's enthusiasm and energy and Jerry's quiet and steady strength. Meeting up with the gentlemanly Dr Yilma was a real bonus, too!

Thoroughly enjoy the Gruppo Pumpkincycle ride reports! As I slowly nurse my tendonitis laden knee back to health, at least I am comforted with the vivid descriptions of the rides I am missing. It's the next best thing to being there, keep 'em coming.

Thanks for the kind words about our ride reports. We have a lot of fun doing them; focusing on each ride as a mini adventure with its own character and enjoying who we are riding with makes these miles easier.
Good luck in resolving your knee problems. I had knee surgery 2 years ago, and my knee is still messed up. It sounds trite but desire, motivation, (unfortunately drugs and rehab), and unbelievable support from other cyclists more than makes up for physical ailments.
