Announcing.... a late afternoon/early evening MTB ride in the hills above Livermore. Expect sunset/dusk lighting conditions so bring headlights. This is show and go, no official ride leader.

Meet at Arroyo Rd Staging Area at 4:45-5 pm with the ride starting by 5:15 pm. To reach the staging area: South on Vasco Rd to I 580. West on I 580 to North Livermore Ave turn off. Turn left as you come off the freeway and drive through downtown. Turn right on 4th St. Left on South 'L' St. South 'L' St becomes Arroyo Rd. Continue on Arroyo Rd past the VA hospital and Wente's Winery until the road dead-ends at the gate. The staging area will be on the left side of the road.

The trail will climb 5.14 miles up beyond the dam at the west end of Lake Del Valle and along the east shore of the lake to Badger Cove. From there, options include continuing along the trail to the boat launch ramp or further up into the hills. Round trip should be approximately 15 miles.

Be sure to check this website on Saturday before the ride in case any changes have been made to the start time or staging area.

Be sure to bring 1) $2 for parking (exact change) as no parking is allowed on Arroyo Rd, 2) bug repellant (just in case), 3) extra batteries for your bike light (also just in case).
