We're getting intermittent attendance to the Saturday morning ride out of Brentwood. So instead of taking the chance of no one showing up, it was determined that the best way to put people in touch was to have them coordinate here on the board.
To that end, this thread will be for those who wish to meet up and ride on Saturday mornings. Historically, the ride met at 9:00am at the trailhead in Brentwood, and went 30-40 miles as determined by the ride group. But since we're all technologically enabled now, feel free to change it up.

Greetings! I am new to delta pedalers. Have participated in the Monday nite rides. I'm interested in Saturday rides. Is there a ride scheduled for this Saturday, 10/25? Rita

Dear Abby:
My problem is: where exactly does the Saturday ride originate? I've tried to find it several times and given up. (Okay, okay, I know, I shoulda just called.) Where exactly is the "staging area" or "trailhead" in Brentwood --- cross streets, please? Is it on Balfour or on Central? Southside or northside of the street? The new Waterpark---where, help! in the parking lot? The descriptions of this ride have been completely vague.
I've lived here for 9 years and the term "trailhead" to me means something different: it's somewhere near Bigbreak in Oakley, where the trail originates [it now ends near Concord Avenue]. Is this the same trail we are all speaking about? Do you mean 'trail entrance?' AAAgggghhhhhhh!
If the Saturday ride met at the Brentwood Cyclery's former location like the Sunday rides, there would be such a nice continuity that even total chowderheads like me could grok and appreciate and maybe even show up. Even at Willy's or Panama Bay would work, too. Remember: K.I.S.S.? 'Keep It Simple, Sister!'
Thanks, but Hopelessly Confused.

Go S on Fairview, L on Central. It's just past the intersection with Dainty on the left. There is a large parking area there.

How about 9 am at the staging area. We'll ride out to the reservoir.

Thanks for all the info, Mike and good meeting you on the road this Saturday. I guess the Saturday a.m. ride is leaderless and basically riderless. I'd be interested in making it a regular ride, but I learned long ago not to raise my hand or you get elected. Saturday might be more viable as a winter ride anyway, with everyone staying closer to home around the holidays, cold weather, etc. It might be good to use a different route than the Sunday ride, say the Empire Mine-Deer Valley-Marsh Creek Road loop. Just an idea. Cheers and thanks again.

i feel your pain. i have been stood up twice on two weekday rides. just to let you know, i am planning to open up a new bike shop in brentwood this spring. location and name is forthcoming but i have already enlisted several key individuals including the chamber of commerce and the previous bike shop owner. they have offered their help and experience for this plan. i will become very...very active in the local bike scene. this club needs to look at how fremont freewheelers plan their monthly rides. they are very friendly and they are very dependable. they have about a half dozen dedicated ride leaders that plan weekly and weekend rides a month ahead of time and publish a newsletter (they actually mail the letter out)for all members. non-members can also get a copy online. but the ride schedule is very extensive and diverse. and the key is that the ride leaders are committed to being there whether or not someone else shows up. this club needs this type of rider dedication to the local club. i am planning to attend the next meeting as a new member and make this proposal. KENT,
I,M GLAD TO HERE THAT YOU ARE GOING TO OPEN A BIKE SHOP IN BRENTWOOD.
I WOULD LIKE TO RESPOND TO YOUR COMMENTS ABOUT OUR CLUB. WE ARE A RATHER SMALL CLUB COMPARED TO SOME OF THE "BIG CITY" CLUBS AROUND AND WE ARE IN NEED OF MORE RIDE LEADERS. ANY HELP THAT YOU COULD GIVE WOULD BE WELCOME. WE DO MAIL OUT THE NEWSLETTERS TO MEMBERS UNLESS THEY WISH TO RECIEVE THEM ON THE WEB. THEY ARE ALSO AVAILABLE AT LOCAL BIKE SHOPS.
I SUGGEST THAT YOU ANNOUNCE YOUR PLAINS IN THE CHATTERBOX SECTION OF THIS WEBSITE. I THINK IT GETS MORE ATTENTION.
