Nice write-up about you on the front page of the Ledger today. I loved it when the reporter asked why you commute so far by bike...1.3 miles??? Hell, you aren't even warmed up by then!
I submitted my commuter profile on a whim early one Sunday morning. I didn't think they'd actually put me in the paper since it seemed like they were looking for people with long drives. The photographer was really funny, like he couldn't quite believe I willingly rode every day. I don't get the paper so I had no idea what the article would look like. One of the other teachers brought it in for me. Kind of cool to be on the front page of the section.
On a separate note - I've missed both of you guys on the Sunday rides. Are you riding this Sunday? We're doing the Holstein Hundred on Sat. so I don't know what we'll do on Sunday. Thom's been kind of envious of the mountain biking rides I've been doing on Wed. and he's been talking about maybe doing that. I can't believe I'm actually having fun on my mountain bike.
Q. How many miles do you commute each way and how long does it take each way?
A. It's about 1.6 miles and takes me 10 minutes in the morning and about 12 in the afternoon. I have a big saddlebag on my bike so I can carry my textbooks, papers to grade, etc.
Q. Why do you live here if the commute is so long?
