What's the scoop on the Jerry Post vs car story? Is he OK?

From the bike shop he is ok, and he was riding his older Lemond, not his nice new Trek.
Don't know where or when his accident took place.

I spoke with Jerry today, one of the great guys to ride with. He was "rear ended" on 12/30 while in the Hillcrest bike lane by a driver who had turned around to look at her kid. "Luckily" he was thrown from the bike, as it was promptly run over. He sustained a broken finger, and hurt his back, and is optimistic about recovery/ being able to ride in a few weeks. Sounded upbeat.

I heard that the Antioch Police didn't even cite the driver. Lovely. She plows over a cyclist (with a narrow miss on killing him), claims to have no insurance, and she gets a free pass? Now when she does it again and kills someone - maybe one of us, maybe a child - it will be her "first offense" and she can get off with a slap on the wrist. Must be nice to be her.

I know that cops have a very hard job and I appreciate all they have to put up with in the community, but that's just wrong.

Jerry, I'm glad you're Ok. Welcome to the "Hit By a Big Honking Vehicle" club!

Antioch police are not willing to do anything according to everyone I have chatted with. Break-ins, thefts, traffic accidents, unless you call and complain - then they do something.

If she didn't have proof of insurance and the damage is over 500 dollars, seems like it has to be reported, and she should lose her license.

Fill out a SR-1 Form, it will cause DMV to investigate and possibly add an accident to there MVR. By law it sould be filled out with in 10 days of any accident. If you don't have a SR-1 form stop by DMV, police station or my office 8065 Brentwood Blvd #2B (Delta Valley Insurance Agency)
