Looking for a tandem to buy (or rent for the summer) so that Donna (aka The Hag, our fallen web mistress) might get back on the road sooner as opposed to later. Any ideas?
We got our tandem at Bicycle Outfitter in Los Altos. There's a mailing list all about tandems called Tandem@Hobbes. You can find them at search.bikelist.org. They have all the messages archived in a searchable index.
We really like our tandem. It's a Santana Arriva. We'd be willing to let you try out ours so you can see if it really appeals. It's a small/small so the fit will be off most likely.
Good news (at least for us, the rest of you may have reason to fear since neither Donna or myself have any tandem experience). A tandem has been made available from a kind soul. Donna will be on the road ASA the Dr. gives the OK. Thanks to the kind soul for the generosity and to Veronica for the suggestions!
That's terrific. Have no fear, it's easy to ride a tandem - just like riding a bike. Just remember the stoker makes no mistakes and communication is key.
