Anyone interested in a early morning ride? This is what I have in mind.

I leave my home in Oakley (Laural & 4) at 5:30am, I would usually meet another friend about 5:45am @ Central Ave & Brentwood Blvd, then another friend @ Apple Hill about 6:00am. Then we take the Antioch route (Empire Mine Road). We either hit Empire Mines then out to the Golf Course then back to Brentwood to drop people off or just the opposite and drop people off. In my case I log about 30 miles my friends alittle less. My ride time is about 1 hour 30 minutes.

DATES: Every Monday, Wedensday and Friday. (Tuesday and Thursday)are swim days!, interested?)

PACE: Anywhere from 12mph to 25mph and it is a no drop unless you want to go home.

Let me know, this is the best way to get and extra 3000 miles a year in!

Is the fee different if you don't live in Brentwood? I had been swimming at Solar Swim and Gym, but it gets too crowded in the summer. And I'm a weenie and don't go half the time in the winter so I'm letting the membership go. Prewett has the same hours as Brentwood, but the class doesn't start until the middle of June. I know I need to get back into the pool.

I plan on going today to get my pass.
I've been thinking about joining you on your morning rides too. I live in Antioch just off Hillcrest and I've been trying to figure out the best place to meet. Are you going down Balfour to Deer Valley to Empire Mines? I'm hoping some mornings I can drag my hubby out on the tandem. Others it will be just me.

Got my lights last night and mounted them today so hopefully you'll see me Friday morning. Is Applewood at the corner of Fairview and Balfour? I don't know Brentwood all that well.

I bet you guys had a great ride this morning. It was beautiful! I've been fighting a cold/sore throat all weekend. Why do these things happen when I'm on vacation?

Hey Good for you!

Morgan Territory was really nice yesterday. I can't say the same for our return on Deer Valley. The phrase hotter than Hades comes to mind. I was slower than cold molasses. Not quite over the cold thing. We stopped at Baskin Robbins for cappucino blasts though. Somehow I still managed to lose two pounds on the ride. :-)

Maurice,
I think I've seen you on the bike path in the mornings...I am on the green short wheel base recumbent...and you had a red/white/blue jersey or helmet.

My usual 20 mile route is:
Bike path from Sunset - Jordan - Vintage - Big Break - Empire - Lone Tree - Fairview - Balfour - Sellers - Bike path

of 30 miler is:
Bike path to Delta - Sellers - Marsh Creek - Orchard - Balfour - Deer Park - Lone Tree - Empire - Big Break - Vintage - Jordan - Bike path back to Sunset

Never done Empire Mines...looks good on the map ...maybe this Friday eh.
