Thanks to Dick for putting together a nice ride/ route today, even if his "Chaat Room Ride" should have been named the "Tour of Every F'n Hill on the Contra Costa and Alameda Border"--South Park, Centennial, Happy Valley Road and the Bears (along with 8 other climbs) are NOT supposed to be done on the same ride. (I tried telling this to Dick en route but he didn't hear me. )
Riding on the new bike bridge over Hwy 80 was nice--but the coolest part was getting out of Tilden via the secret route--El Toyonal Road--even if Mike T. and I were oblivious (once again) to the directions and we blew by the turn off. Mercifully Big Mike sped after us to turn us around before we had to reclimb Wildcat Canyon again.
Special congrats to our two most senior members, Dick and Bruce, for doing the route--which was more, alot more, than the reported 55 miles, 4000 feet of climbing.
