Nature played an awful trick and after a few balmy days in Texas the weather suddenly dropped--the headwinds picked up, just in time to coincide with the 100 mile Ride For the Roses Cancer Charity ride. Congrats to Joann, who raised thousands and thousands and thousands of dollars for this charity and for getting to ride with Lance a few days earlier. (Rumor has it that near he end of the ride Joann started one of her customary breakaways and rode away from Lance.) Congrats to Joann and Donna for toughening it out and finishing this ride, even with thunderstorms in the end--it was Donnas' first 100 miler in a couple of years, hardest one she ever did, and in the worst weather. Joann and Donna's incredible training regiment could only be improved upon if they regularly rode the Old Kemmelberg.
Jay GP-Just ride, baby
Joann-winner of the 2003 Servais Knaven award for attempting the most successful breakaways, and riding with customary good humor and support for other riders.
Donna-winner of the 2003 Wilfried Peeters award for pulling the pacelines, toughening it out in bad conditions, and showing fiercy determination. |

I hate to do this, but I AGREE with everything Jay said. This Dynamic Duo of Delta Pedalerdom deserves a pat on the back.
Way to represent.
